Places qualificatives pour les JO de Sydney (marquées d’une étoile) : 5 en plus de celle déjà gagnée par la Yougoslavie avec son titre de championne du Monde. Toutes les équipes demi-finalistes iront donc aux JO, accompagnées par le 5e ou les 5e et 6e si la Yougoslavie finit dans les 5 premiers.
In addition to Yugoslavia (World champion), 5 teams will be qualified for the Olympic Games of Sydney: all teams reaching the semi-finals and the 5th or the 5th and 6th in the standings if Yugoslavia finishes in the top 5. They are marked with a star in the standings.
